A 7 page analysis of interactions between Appalachian dialect and culture, as well as historical influences. 

This is an essay from a linguistics course, History of the English Language, that I took during the spring semester of 2023. The assignment was to write an informational essay exploring interactions between a given region's dialect and cultural factors; for the assignment I chose to research and write about cultural impacts and perceptions of Appalachian language, and how both influence the dialect of the Appalachian region.

Having decided on a topic, I gathered relevant sources and information, and started a note sheet to outline the report. As time passed I filled in more information, and organized it with clarity and readability in mind.

This project highlights skills related to organization, MLA citation styles, academic writing and experience, research, as well as multimodal presentation skills (as there are a few components to this assignment).
